Thoughts for dialogue: the voice of education

Description

We will create an on-line platform, that will host the international Community of Practice of professionals working with prisoners in the pre-release and also post-release phase. This will be a knowledge network and also will be our critical friend, acting as the “external evaluator” of the project outputs. Each project partner is responsible with promoting the platform and attracting as many participants as possible.

Activities:

  1. Setting up the implementation strategy, direct tasks for partners and working tools
  2. Research and proposal of the best structure and implementation methodology for the community of practice based on the numerous practical experiences of the Output Leader in E+ and also in Structural Funds (http://www.prisonsystems.eu/index.php/careers /14-english/news/50-credem-in-schimbare-project)
  3. Development of the internal structure of the Community of Practice (CoP) and of the information to be uploaded
  4. Promoting the CoP to the partnership networks and attracting at least 50 professionals outside of the partner institutions to engage in the community
  5. Continuously moderating the community and updating the information
  6. Creation of on-line surveys and questionnaire to capture the interests, needs and realities of prison educators working in pre-release activities with prisoners.
  7. Creation of on-line surveys and questionnaire to review and evaluate the project outputs and results
  8. Upload study cases based on the project staff training and multiplier events
  9. Create an activity report of the Community and a Recommendation Paper based on the captured data.

Charting a new course: pre & post release dialogue

Charting a new course: pre & post release dialogue

Description

The DIACEN partnership is developing an innovative guide for prison staff, educators, social workers’ and other professionals involved in preparing the pre-release period: how to co-produce together with the prisoner, how to dialogate, what methods to use not just to have communication, but they have meaningful dialogue.

Activities:

  1. The Output leader(ICPA) sets out the working methodology, implementation plan and tasks for the involved partners
  2. OP leader sets out the detailed structure based on the initial structure we have set in the application and shares it with the Community of Practice. Based on a peer review made by the members of the CoP the final necessary structure and tools will be agreed upon
  3. All partners co-develop the contents respecting the practical aspect of the Toolkit.
  4. The OP leader revises the final version and runs a second peer review on the CoP, this time with a more restricted number of selected stakeholders, but with a more in-depth approach on the contents selected by partners.
  5. Based on this final version, P3 IPS PT leader will organise a staff training (C1) on how to work with the Toolkit, how to promote it to prison workers and to integrate it into their daily routine. The participants will give final feedback and reviews about the Toolkit, and also set action plans for national and European promotion and implementation
  6. Each partner will translate in own language and print 20 copies for regional distribution, encouraging the enrolment onto the community of practice for the on-line aces to the Toolkit.

Dialogue action kit: finding my voice in the community

Dialogue action kit: finding my voice in the community

Description

The DIACEN partnership will develop the structure of an Action Kit for the prisoner upon release. The Prisoners and prison staff involved in the project will than co-produce the content (different to be relevant for each community involved) so that at the end of the activity we will have local community made solutions for at least 100 inmates involved in the DIACEN methodologies.

Activities:

  1. The Output leader sets out the working methodology, implementation plan and tasks for the involved partners
  2. OP leader sets out the detailed structure based on the initial Action Kit we have set in the application and shares it with the Community of Practice. Based on a peer review made by the members of the CoP the final necessary structure and tools will be agreed upon
  3. All partners assist prison staff and prisoners to co-develop the contents respecting the initial structure but adapting it to local availabilities
  4. Each partner will print 100 copies of the national language developed Action Kit for regional distribution, encouraging other prisons to use it.

Description

Within the DIACEN methodology, we propose for the prison staff, educators and social workers a possible solution for developing networks, starting from their local community. In order to instrument such a process, we will produce a guide for the prison staff on how to use the ABCD method for their needs in securing the post-release network as much as possible.

Activities:

  1. The Output leader sets out the working methodology, implementation plan and tasks for the involved partners
  2. OP leader sets out the detailed structure based on the initial structure we have set in the application and shares it with the Community of Practice. Based on a peer review made by the members of the CoP the final necessary structure and tools will be agreed upon
  3. All partners co-develop the contents respecting the practical aspect of the ABCD Guide.
  4. The OP leader revises the final version and runs a second peer review on the CoP, this time with a more restricted number of selected stakeholders, but with a more in-depth approach on the contents selected by partners.
  5. Based on this final version, OP leader will organise a staff training (C2) on how to work with the Guide.
  6. Each partner will translate in own language and print 20 copies for regional distribution, encouraging the enrolment onto the community of practice for the on-line access to the Guide.
  7. Each partner will deliver a multiplier event promoting the project outputs and starting the community asset mapping process.
